Machine Quilting Pricing

and

Order/Estimate Forms

-- Here's How to Get Started --

Step #1 - Decide what kind of quilting you want on your quilt. My pricing is determined by how much quilting you want, how long it is going to take to do it, and how hard it is to quilt the design you want. You can look over the following information to get an idea of how I determine what to charge.

Step #2

Print the following Order/Estimate Form - Right clicking on it and then choose "print" from the menu that appears. This form needs to be filled out and sent with your quilt tops. A sample of a filled-out order follows the blank one.

Quilting Design/Motif - This section is where you decide what type of quilting you want. In the blank areas, either check or write an explanation of what you want. The Quilter's Choice, option can be chosen if you want me to decide what would make your top look the best. I will always email or call to discuss the quilting possibilities. Please call me if you want to discuss the possibilities.

Batting - Please check if you are providing the batting, or if you want me to supply a polyester or 80/20 blend. Again, please call you you need to discuss what I have available.

Backing - This section tells me about your backing - do you provide it or do I. If you provide the backing, please be sure it is 4-6" wider and longer than your top and that it is straight across on each side (square). The way quilting machine tables are set up require backs to be slightly larger than the top and to be straight or square. This is so very important. If I have to fix a back or top, I have to charge for it. So, please help make everything go smoothly. It will save time and money.

I also have some wide quilt back material in stock. Click here to see the fabrics that are available.

Binding - Your quilt will be basted all the way around it. If you want me to bind it, please call and we'll discuss the different options and cost.

Thread - I find that using the same color thread on the top and the bottom makes for the best looking stitches. Please consider this when choosing the back and thread colors. Solid color threads run $1.00 per bobbin and varigated runs $2.00.

I will gladly use more than one color of thread. I charge an additional $5.00 for the second color and $5.00 for each additional color. This covers the time it takes to change spools, bobbins, and go back over the quilt.

Taxable Amount - My labor is not taxed but materials are taxed. So, everything except the price of the quilting gets taxed. If you are inside Missouri, my tax rate is 4.475%. For all outside Missouri, the rate is 0%.
