Machine Quilting by Susan Logan

Lissa is a big fan of quiltville.com and finds most of her inspiration there. This throw was a gift for her parents anniversay. Individual feathers were quilted in each petal of the flower and in each block of the border.

An freehand overall quilting pattern of loop 'de loops, flowers, and leaves was done over the blocks. Flowers and the name, Lauren, were out-lined and enhanced with additional matching flowers, and leaves. The side borders mimicked the top border with "Lauren", flowers, and leaves quilted in them.
Lissa made this quilt as a present for a newborn and wanted to add a flower in the bottom right corner with the baby's vital information embroidered on the petals. Lanny did a machine applique of each petal that Lissa later would attach along with the center of the flower.

In Lissa's wedding ring quilt, which was also a gift, a quilting stensil was used to mark the large design that reached out to each point of the inside rings. A co-ordinating design was created for the slices which was also quilted using a stencil. Again, a co-ordinating pattern was created to go in the areas around the names and date.

Lissa created a Texas Tech throw for a recent graduate. A feather border outlined a quilted school ensignia of double Ts but was barely noticable.
